Peel Harvey Soil Health Champion for 2022
A huge congratulations to Blythe and Gregg of Runnymede Farm for taking out the Soil Health Champion prize for the Peel Harvey region at this year’s Talkin’ Soil Health conference!
It has been wonderful working with Blythe and Gregg over the past few years as they and Runnymede Farm have moved from strength to strength, and it has been inspirational watching the changes taking place on their farm since they first purchased the property in 2019. They have certainly covered the theme for this year - Building resilience from the subsoil up.
Christie and Craig from the WOA Impact Team attended the event, where they heard from an exciting group of renowned guest speakers and local farmers shining a spotlight on the latest agricultural practices that improve soil health.
The event is one of the largest and most reputable soil health conferences in Australia and is hosted by Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management. The biennial event brings together farmers, researchers and industry professionals for a day of presentations and networking.
It was fantastic to catch up with other farmers who are focusing on improving their soil health, from across all regions in Western Australia, and to experience the York Town hall full of enthusiastic and like minded people.
